Championship for the Huskies!!!

The U.W. Women’s softball team claim the NCAA National Championship yesterday with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Florida Lady Gators. The college player of the year Danielle Lawrie gave up 2 early runs in the first inning, then she shut the  Lady Gators down the rest of the way. This is the first softball championship for U.W. sixth national title overall for the University of Washington, and for the Pac-10 this is the 21st time they have claimed the National title out of 27 tries, UCLA has 11, Arizona has 8, A.S.U and U.W now have 1 each……….Congrats to the Huskies!!!

Huskies take bite out of Gators….

The U.W. Women’s Softball team is only one win away from claiming the 2009 NCAA Women’s Softball Championship, they smacked the Florida Gators (63-4) around yesterday 8-0. Danielle Lawrie led the Huskies (50-12) with a dominant 2-hit, 12k’s ,7 inning shut-out. The University of Washington will play game two this evening at 5pm (pst.)

Washington Huskies (Women) going for Title!!

The U.W Women Huskies softball team (49-12) have made it  to the NCAA Softball Championship game, they will face the #1 seeded Florida Lady Gators(63-3). The Husky women survived the double elimination semi-finals against the Georgia Lady Bulldogs losing the first game 9-8, and winning the second game 9-3 to advance to the finals. The finals format is the best 2 out of 3, it all starts Monday at 5pm (pst.)…………..GO HUSKIES!!!
