The Seattle Seahawks finished their preseason with a 31-21 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Seattle took the lead early when Russell Wilson hit rookie Tyler Lockett for a 63-yard touchdown. It was Lockett’s third touchdown this preseason. His other two touchdowns have been just as impressive, a 103-yard touchdown return in his first outing, and a 67-yard return last week against the San Diego Chargers.
“It was a great play, and a great opportunity to see him make something happen again,”Carroll said of Lockett in a postgame press conference. “He’s been a big factor in preseason, and we’re really excited about that.”
B.J. Daniels — who has been transitioning to wide receiver in camp — entered at quarterback in the third quarter and led two scoring drives. The first was a 14 play, 80-yard drive that ended with a touchdown to former Washington Huskies receiver Kasen Williams (Williams himself made an amazing catch in the corner of the end zone).
Running back Thomas Rawls rushed for a touchdown on Daniels’ second drive, a 9 play, 60-yard series. Daniels finished the the night with 6 of 14 passes completed for 45 yards. He also picked up 75 yards on the ground (including one 20 yard gain).
Seattle finished the preseason 2-2. The team will kick off the regular season September 13 with a road game against the St. Louis Rams.
